I see the Tories insist you won't have to sell your home to fund care for the elderly.

Hasn't told her Lady Brady yet, has she?

What you mean having Zabaleta and someone like............Er............Sam Byram.

Talk about can't see the wood for the tree's.

Re: Zabaleta
I don't think anyone would disagree that he would be a good signing if he was signed alongside two or three 18 - 24 year old players too. Or Bilic actually looked as if he might blood a few of our own youngsters.

As it stands, we're looking like having more than 50% of the team being over 29. That is not good in anyones book.

Re: Zabaleta
If you read his interview on the BBC he says to come back and play against Citeh in a different coloured shirt would be very tough, that does not sound to me like a guy who has signed or is about to sign for us.

Welcome to West Ham, The retirement Home for ageing Football Players.
Love it.

Re: Zabaleta
Thinking about it, this sort of signing has work out so well for us over the years.

Fuck trying to find a Trippier from the lower leagues, or a right footed Masuaku, let's go for the the type of signing that has helped the club flourish so much.

Re: Zabaleta
Reading through his thread on Blue Moon and he couldn't be held in higher regard by the mancs. Everyone is gutted, but understand it's best for player and club.

This worried me a bit though.......

"He'd have a couple of years left if our shite squad management hadn't left him playing 60 games a year for three years and if we had a prime right back bedded in for him to rotate with, as it is he's fucked as he's spent a lot of time playing through injury and running himself into the ground."

.....I think, if he stays fit for a couple of years, then this will have proved to be a shrewd move by West Ham, I only fear that the fan above knows something we don't want to hear.

Re: Zabaleta
On a one-year deal I'd take him. But it won't be a one-year deal. It might be a 3! Not for me - too much of a gamble at the age.

Re: Zabaleta
This is one where I'm hoping for the best, but fearing the worst.

Just how much defending is he used to doing, and how exposed by those around him is Zabaleta at Man City?

At West Ham he needs to be good at defending. At Man City he needs to be good on the ball going forward, and is generally playing for the superior team.

He'll look a lot more tired in the legs when under the kosh for 60 out of the 90 mins.

Nervous about this one.

He'd be a fantastic signing.

Re: Zabaleta
Pep is letting him go because his system requires players who are more winger than full back. Like a Dani Alves

I quite like Argentinian players in most cases ... Tevez Lanzini ... they work hard and are often like English players. Except they can play football.
Much preferable to those God bothering weirdos from Brazil who tend to have a good season or two then slack off.
